Inside Look: Jenny Bullock

Every month we speak to a different member of the CTM travel management team to find out what makes them tick.

This month, it's time to meet Senior Account Manager Jenny Bullock.


What’s your role Jenny & how long have you been working at CTM?

I am the Senior Account Manager and I manage a portfolio of key accounts here at CTM. I have been with the company in this role since February 2016.

Tell us a little bit about your background, what were you doing before joining CTM?

Since my school days I always knew I wanted to work in travel. My career has seen me work for a large, very well known leisure travel company where I carried out various sales and customer-focused roles. Before joining CTM I worked for 10 years for the UK’s largest independent travel agency group, the Advantage Travel Partnership, where I managed client engagement and participation in an International hotel programme. This saw me working with clients both in the UK and overseas.

On an average day, what do you spend most of your time doing?

No two days are really the same in travel and that's what I have always loved about my job. On an average day I will focus my efforts on a number of my key accounts, through regular meetings and calls I will promote the benefits and services of CTM. I also liaise with airlines, hotels and other suppliers to ensure our accounts really are receiving the best possible offering.

I also ensure travellers are adhering to their travel policies and through our service level agreements ensure we are providing the best service to all our travellers.

Which specific skills does the job require?

You have to be a team player with a strong customer focus to be able to fulfill this role. The environment is constantly changing and you need to be able to work together so we can continue to deliver the services that our clients have become accustomed to.

And what are the main challenges?

Our main challenges arise from the ever-changing environment of travel, with various strikes taking place, weather disruption and the continued global threat, we have to constantly think ahead, because you never quite know what might happen next.

What do we offer which makes us stand out? In your view, why do our clients choose us over any other TMC?   

Our staff make us stand out in my opinion. Each and every one of the team takes every effect to ensure the traveller is always put first. Our service truly is bespoke, we tailor our approach differently to everyone we work with. We are not a one size fits all organisation!

What is it about the job that you most enjoy?

I’m very much a people person and I love being out and about visiting our clients and getting to know them. Finding out about our clients' businesses and watching them grow and being part of that is what I enjoy most about my role.

Do you have a favourite travel destination and why?

For a weekend city break, my favourite destination every time would be New York, 'the city that never sleeps.' The city is constantly evolving and has something different to explore every time I visit.
