Flexible, affordable travel for UK businesses
As emerging economies top the list of global business travel destinations, closer to home London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Newcastle top the list of domestic destinations that CTM business travellers have been visiting - following the trend set by American Express Global Business Travel*. And with low-cost carriers (LCCs) now offering such affordable and flexible fare options, it's no wonder that business travel for SMEs has become so accessible.
Pick-and-mix fares to suit your business needs
LCCs like Ryanair and easyJet are taking more and more of the domestic business as they introduce Business Plus/Flexi Fare ticketing options. Travellers can now choose from things like unlimited changes, free hold luggage, free seat selection, fast-track security and priority boarding - depending on their budget and what's most important to them. These new fares are also forcing legacy carriers, such as British Airways (BA), to up their game and follow suit - BA now offers cheaper hand-luggage only fares.
More airlines following the LCC business model
According to aviation data company OAG, LCCs still only account for 36% of the overall aviation market in Europe, offering plenty of room for expansion. This is becoming more evident as pioneers Ryanair and easyJet begin to face increasing competition from the likes of Norwegian and Vueling.
Affordable travel whatever your budget
Business travellers now have options at both ends of the price scale. At the upper end, the luxurious and exclusive world of private aviation is undergoing major changes. New disrupters are coming into the market offering cheaper seats and innovative business models making private jet travel more accessible. While at the more price-sensitive end, LCCs are aggressively targeting business customers.
