The NPS acts on behalf of the Welsh public sector to deliver value for money from the procurement of common and repetitive goods and services. NPS brings together public sector purchasing power of over £1 billion representing 20-30% of the Welsh annual expenditure in common and repetitive spend.
Over 73 organisations in Wales have signed up to be part of the NPS initiative and include all local authorities, the NHS, Welsh Government and Welsh Government sponsored bodies, the Police and fire services and higher and further Education.
After a tender process including multiple travel management companies, CTM were successfully awarded the agreement.
CTM put together an implementation programme set to educate staff on the online system and the benefits of consolidating travel.
Through a series of roadshows, WebEx training sessions and one-to-one training, CTM made sure every member of staff they met had full knowledge and understanding of the online booking system and the benefits this brings.
As part of the agreement, CTM consolidated the data for all organisations involved and carry out additional supplier negotiations where applicable.
CTM continue to achieve a 95% online adoption rate through NPS users, and all branch bookings are monitored to ensure these levels are maintained.
95% bookings are now made online with 1500 users using the online tool, and a total of £17,500 saved on airline travel.
